I literally have not decorated for Halloween in 25

I literally have not decorated for Halloween in 25 years or more. I have always just done Fall. But this year one of my favorite artists John Derian @johnderiancompany @johnderian came out with a line @target and I simply couldn’t resist ordering at least 2 things. So because of that, I will be clearing this table and adding a little something different, as well as a little switch in the Living Room. Remember, I only bought 2 items but they inspired me to pull from things I already had and I created a little bit of a different look for me. Do you have a space in your home that rarely gets

Do you have a space in your home that rarely gets messy. Mine is this area of the Living Room. Other than something going out to the car, or packages coming in, it pretty much never changes. The entire main floor could be a disaster and this space would probably look the same. So always a retreat. My bedroom, Dressing Room, and studio are almost always messy, in that there are small piles of things here and there that I’m working on, hey, I do a lot of things in these spaces. Also the Family Room-where we basically live, it almost always a big mess, like dorm room mess, but it’s only one space and we work it hard. Who cares, live-in-your-house. Ok I did a little thing last January, do you want to hear all about it? ⁣

No kidding one day before I flew to Texas for 2 weeks over Christmas, I got a call from @betterhomesandgarden asking would I be interested in having my home photographed for Christmas mid January 2020 for Christmas 2020? Yes, yes, yes of course I would, isn’t that every girls dream. ⁣
⁣
But remember I was 1 day away from leaving the state and I wouldn’t be back home until Jan 1st. My brain was in overdrive the entire trip, as I planned out how I would come home and redecorate the house for the photoshoot. ⁣
⁣
It was a blast, and here it is, in Better Homes and Garden Christmas Ideas magazine, on stands now. Also featured a few of my sweet friends here from Instagram. Sharing one bathroom while we are working in another, and still I have another bathroom that needs a total gut job. ⁣

That one was supposed to get done in 2020, but CORONA. We continue to make do, and move on to things we can work on ourselves, which is becoming less and less as we get older. ⁣

Anyway.....I added the most amazing, inexpensive Art to this bathroom and I adore it. Check out @posterstore for prints and frames. ⁣Then I added some beautiful candles from @hillhousenaturalsfarm which are pure perfection. Now I need to run a bath. 🙌🏻

We had a 50lb Antique Mirror hanging here and it just didn’t seem safe. Especially since we will need to use this shower daily when we do the gut job. ⁣

Depending on where you live determines what Fall feels like and how long it lasts. Here in PA, Summer goes into late September, we may even have an eighty degree day in early October but with lower humidity. Then just like that, almost one day right after the other, it goes 80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 40, and all of that over just about a 2 week period and then we are freezing.⁣
⁣
Because of that I’ve never been a huge Fall decorator. You can’t find a pumpkin until the end of September and by the end of October it could be snowing. So a minimal show of decor, even though it’s my fav time of year to buy clothes. Give me all the chunky sweaters. ⁣
