A Fresh Look For The Living Room

Well, you probably guessed it, the molding is white, the front door, and the Mantle, are painted, and only the staircase on the other side of the room has to be done. Everything about this room looks different now. The curtains which were once almost the same color as the molding, now have a fresh look and really pop against the white. The old pull shades are out the door, and modern wood-slat blinds are in there place. A reproduction cabinet that has been in the living room for twenty years has been moved to the porch, and in its place an Empire Dresser made over with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, and a beautiful new chandelier from Pottery Barn that I have wanted for so, so, long, hangs over the round table in the living room now, along with some new furniture. I also added a pair of old door shutters to the living room to brighten a dark hole. We moved the burgundy couch up to the third floor. I now have a clean slate, that I can change out often with pillows and throws.

These walls tend to look shiny in pictures, but they are not. They are hand rubbed with a glaze, and they tends to pick up the light from the flash.

I would still like to add some radiator covers to the two large radiators in this room. Changing out the carpets is on my radar for next year.
