February was a big month, I’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on this “Red Room Makeover” for starters. Purchasing the draperies for the Living Room, and waiting to hang them, [which is why they are not on the favorites list}, refinished a table in the living room, and purchased this lovely horse to sit on it. I’ve also been busy hunting down pieces for the upcoming remodel of my study, and picking paint again! 😉
Here Are My February Decorating Favorites
1.This lady like table is a stunner. I purchased this to sit in front of the large windows in the Living room. It has two drop-leaves, and multiple compartments in the drawers. I needed a smaller table, in width, than what was there. I am getting ready to hang new curtains, that will puddle on the floor, and the table that was there would have interfered with the hanging of the curtains.
2. The simple lines and soft look of this, Classically Simple Farmhouse Tray, from Painted Fox Treasures, is a home run on my dining room table! And did I mention the size, its amazing! It works well for a casual dinner, stacked with rolled up napkins and a salt and pepper shaker. When not in use, add tied up lavender bunches, for a simple look, or what about finding a shelf to lean it on, or a wall to hang it on. Here I hung it from a large hook, on an antique ladder in my dining room, and using a ribbon, tied, a petite, boxwood wreath, to the handle. Did I mention the SIZE! Plus check out this Metal Drying Rack in Barn Rood Silver, from Painted Fox Treasures, can you say “Showstopper”
3. This Galvanized Steel two-tier plant stand, from Target, is a stand-out! I purchased this to use as a coffee station, filled with mugs and stuff. It hasn’t made it to the kitchen as of yet.
4. This $11.00 flea market vase, that was covered in dirt, turns out to be one of my favorite for the month. It brings light and life no matter where I place it. This vase simply, makes me smile.
5. This Horse, a recommendation from Addison Wonderland was exactly what I was looking for. I had a table I was painting and I was looking for something on the large size so it didn’t compete with all the other things on this side of the room. Its PERFECT and I adore it! I am on the look out for a tall, lamp, to replace the candle sticks. In the meantime I am using this one from my study.
Anyone else experiencing the driest skin ever? This month I have been loving, all of my skin care, and, every makeup product that I own in a cream, gel, or liquid form. Stay away from powders when your dry, they emphasize everything we don’t want emphasized.
I pulled out a purchase from last year, which became a favorite all over again. There is nothing like a little color right in the middle of winter. This Kate Spade New York bag, is so sweet in its, robin egg blue color. This bag is available all of the time at the outlet store, in the on-trend color of the season.
