One of my favorite things to do is set a pretty table. Believe it or not I rarely do it in the real world, but I love it. I love pulling things from around the house to come up with different ideas. I had planned to do something with blueberries, simply because I am in the middle of adding touches of navy blue to my living and dining room right now. This past weekend when we went out shopping to buy the paint for the living room, we stopped at two of my favorite stores, Homegoods and Pottery Barn. Do you ever feel like the exact things you were looking for, that you didn’t even know you needed, are right there when you are, and its just destiny. Well I do, call me crazy, but when I walked in the doors of Pottery Barn, there it was, this checked blue tablecloth that I fell instantly in love with. I will admit here. that there are very few patters I embrace, but checks are one. I do try to elevate it just a bit, so its not to too country. But I adore it. I also picked up this enormous planter, which I have nothing to put in at the moment, so I filled it with all the grapevine that came off the Christmas tree. You should have seen me pulling out all the tinsel. ha ha So anyway, there you have it, here is how we got to today. I found this tablecloth and I had the blueberries so I decided to go for a morning breakfast look, and share this favorite recipe with all of you.
Well I don’t know about you, but I could have a Pinterest board just for recipes with Blueberries in them. I don’t know what it is, I mean I do love blue, and I love blueberries, but I cant get enough. In our house we have a book, we simply call “THE BOOK” when we try a new recipe, if it is a winner, and I am talking 10 stars, then it makes the book. That way we know that any recipes in that book is a winner, we don’t need to try to remember if we liked it, we know we do because it made the book. Well, this recipe which my youngest daughter found on Pinterest is one of those recipes that I think about. You know the kind, its so good you could get sick eating it, because even though your belly is stuffed, your mouth wants more, yeah, that is the kind of recipe this is, and it is so simple to make.
preheat your oven to 450 degrees and place in the freezer 5 tbsp. of butter for 20 minutes
In a medium size mixing bowl mix
1/3 cup sugar
4-tsp baking powder
then add 3 oz of blueberries-HINT I never really took the time to measure this out I just throw about 2 handfuls in
at this point you can remove the butter from the freezer and chop it up until crumbly
add to the mix and fold in the blueberries and butter
I spray my stone/baking dish with cooking spray
Place 6 golf ball size dough balls on the sheet and bake for 7-12 min mine take 12. The recipe makes 12, so when one comes out do the next batch. This batch takes a minute or two less.
Now for the Glaze!!!
1-cup 10x sugar
1/8- cup water
1/2 tsp lemon juice
Mix well and glaze, and serve them up, yummy.
Notice this amazingly beautiful custom pillow with my last name on it back on the window seat, it was sent to me by the sweet Kendra Farmer over @sovintagechic on Instagram and check out her Etsy shop hear for some of the most lovely pillows.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Enjoy this recipe and pass it on.
