Change brings Change

Well it has been about two  months since we painted the living room white. I love, love, love, the room and I am so glad I took the plunge and went white. This was a really big step for me. I even painted a bathroom in the same color first because I was so scared. That said, it kind of changed how I decorate the room now. I feel I need less, but definitely need to add in a few more pops of color, texture and layers. I need some shiny things, which is a plus since I love shiny things. But I need to be a bit more intentional about what I put in the room. So since the new update, I have picked up just a few things to cozy up the room and add a little more of those pops of blue that I adore so much this season. I also removed a few things and moved a few things around, no surprise here. ha

I had planned to add a bench to the room for over a year but was leaning toward a muslin covered one, very neutral and very pretty, however decided what I needed was something a little more bold. This navy blue velvet bench I picked up at Homegoods, is to die for and added the color I needed, to this side of the room.

My antique round table had been a custom mix of Paris Grey and Graphite for some time, but disappears in front of the dark armoire we added last fall, so a little white paint to brighten it up and bring some attention to it.

I removed the Pottery Barn slipcovered chairs from the space. I had purchased the four chairs originally for the dining room, but was using two of them in here until I get my new dining room table. But lately I have felt a little over whelmed by how they felt in the space. So they are now in the dining room.

This sweet pocket watch clock, I purchased from Décor Steals, and I was planning to use it in my study, since I need a clock in there, but it didn’t make it. I set the clock here and here it will stay for now.

And this lovely gray table, {seen above} received a facelift in Aubusson, by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I switched out the mirror above my mantle and moved it over my Empire dresser where I have a small collection of blue glass bottles, and a gold mercury glass lamp all from Homegoods. This screams Spring to me.

The Mantle now, as I am on the hunt for a much larger Antique Gold Gilded Mirror.

We moved the desk turned coffee table to the back family room, which I have never shown, because it is need of a makeover. I wanted one that was a little more light and airy looking. We added this library table, cut down to coffee table height, and I painted with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Iron Stone. I adore it.

I still want to add a carpet in hereby the door and a matching one in the dining room, but that is on the back burner, find that amazing gold mirror somewhere, probably the auction, and add in some summery throws.

Thanks for Stopping by the Blog
