Changing the Ceiling Color

Tammys Blog DeAnn art and coffee table 020a

Just stopping in quickly to share this update in my dining room. If you are like me my home is constantly evolving. I kind of feel my way through it slowly. Anyway…..

A few years back I painted the living and dining grey including the ceilings. Without realizing it I picked a gray with a strong undertone of blue for the ceilings. I noticed that sometimes the sun reflected off the ceiling and threw out a blue/green cast of light over the room, and I didn’t like it. Even though I love blue. We repainted our living room walls and ceiling back in February so I knew that the dining room ceiling had to go the same color since the rooms are open to each other. Well this was the weekend. We emptied the room one night, and in one day we primed x1 and painted x2 coats and it was done. It made a huge difference in the room, the cast is gone and the gray on the walls looks fresh and new. I painted the ceiling with Benjamin Moore’s, Simply White, it is a lovely soft white, the under tone in this shadeof white┬áis black. The gray in the dining room is Cathedral Stone from Lowes.

Here are a few before and after pictures.

So before with the blue cast..
