I’m back, with Phase Two, of this little refresh in my bedroom. Last fall I painted my bedroom white, and came up with a plan to update the room in three phases. I definitely enjoy taking on a few smaller projects at a time as opposed to everything all at once. Not only is it easier to work on just a few things at a time, but it allows me to kind of figure it out along the way. You can read about Phase One HERE but lets jump in to what I’ve just finished.
First up, I knew I wanted to wall paper the wall behind my bed, and I knew I wanted it to be soft and subtle. It did take some time to find the perfect paper, and let me tell you, the moment I saw this paper, I knew this was it. It is the Peonies & Anemones, from miltonandking.com and it is fabulous. It is exactly what the room needed, it added some interest and softness to the stark white room. I love how the mirrored mirrors look against the paper as well, and it is the perfect backdrop for my old, hand me down, headboard, which I recently repainted.
The headboard, was a hand me down soooo many years ago, it was a dark brown wood when I received it, then an antique white, then white, and finally it is painted with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Arabesque. It is temporary, until I purchase my dream bed, but I adore the color., so I will need to find something else to paint with it, because that is how I roll. It is just that I need a bed with a footboard, because I am tired of needing to pull my mattress back up against the headboard every week. In the meantime I think the soft pink is dreamy against, all the grey and white.
I added the most fabulous carpet from plushrugs.com the Nida Plush Shaggy Rug, in Ivory, and it is super soft under foot and again the creamy color softens the harsh color of the hardwood floor. I love using white as the backdrop for everything else. The rug is in an 8 x 10 size in order to allow me to step out of bed onto it.
I’ve added a new sign, from Sincerely Us Shop, and it is so lovely. Black and white with a grey-wash stained frame. If signs ever go out of style I’m in trouble, I have and love so many.
Do you remember the Beddys I added to my bed a few months back, it is so perfect, and still working out great now that the air-conditioning is running full blast. Would you believe my hubby helped me pull my mattress up one day and asked, why don’t I have this? Opppps yes, he is a crazy snorer so we have our own rooms. I am just saying if a man is curious about how fabulous zip-up bedding is, you know its good.
These two Soft Pink Linen Pillow Shams, are hand made by my sweet friend Rhonda, over at Hallstrom Home, be sure to stop over to check out all the goodies she carries in her shop.
Finally this Summer Ruffled Blanket and Pillows Shams, from casadilino.com are the icing on the cake. All that white I’ve been talking about is the perfect way to pop this dark grey linen bedding on top of. It truly is perfection. If only I would have known about linen bedding years ago, I literally fell in #madlove #crazylove with this fabric, and this company, and can’t wait to add more pieces to my home.
