Summer is here…..woo hoo!!! Everything is in full bloom, just sit on your front porch and take it all in, or take a drive in the car and gaze out into the country side, its absolutely breathtaking. Its Summer, and I adore everything about this season, the smell of flowers, and barb-b-ques, the breeze if you can find it there, mixed with the warm sun beating down, the bright light-is such a mood lifter, the sounds-I love to lay on the love seat, out on my front porch: and listen to the sweet sounds of summer, children giggling, the birds, and lawn mowers running. And I love to bring all of those feelings and smells into my home as well. Lets go on a little walk through to see some fresh summer touches, I recently added to update my home for the season.
I am so excited to have had the opportunity to partner with the fabulous Brand, Hayneedle.com thank you so much for sponsoring us. #sponsoredpost #fortheloveofhome I have joined with several other ladies, all of which I admire and look to for inspiration, to give you a little peek into our Summer homes. We will share a few of the lovely things we found over at Hayneedle to give our homes a fresh look for the season. Can I just say, they have the most extraordinary collection of items, something for every style, and the selection is enormous. It was a real challenge to narrow it down to just a few things, I have a wish list a mile long, and they may be one of my favorite new shops.
Every time the season changes I make a few tweaks to my decor. However, I was looking to add a few special, standout pieces, that would add a newness to the space, and give it a casual Summer feel. I decided I would add in all white things. I have been having a love affair with white lately, as far as painted furniture and all my walls, but now I wanted to add in some white decor. My eye is instantly drawn to the white, when I enter the room.
I live in a home that is over 100 years old, and I love that its perfectly imperfect.
Lets start as we enter through the front door, right here you walk into a large living room, but it almost feels like two rooms, since there is a walkway from the door through the house. I use a lot of florals in my decorating, faux and real, so this large arrangement, in the most dreamy vessel from PCBHOME is the focus when you walk in the door, and I love how it pops in front of the all white decorated staircase wall.
Looking straight ahead, from the door.
….and then a few angles from the other side of the room. Make sure to stop by “My Collection” to shop for all the white on my staircase wall, Gold Heart Sign, Life is Beautiful pillow, and more.
Then as you look into the main living room, you find the seating area. Lets look over into the sitting area, and see a little something special. First up, this precious Wood and Marble box is the perfect addition to my living room coffee table, maybe I can hide a little candy inside, I have such a sweet tooth, but wouldn’t this box be a beautiful place to store remote controls. I love the classic, sleek design of the piece.
One of my favorite things to decorate is my mantle, I love this simple look for Summer.
Moving into the dining room, I added this gorgeous Bamboo Slated Box to the dining room table. Since I have a natural wood table top the white really pops. Then I simply added some potted lavender plants, for a simple Summer feel.
On top of my new sideboard, which I am still smitten with, and you can find in “My Collection”, and the art I added just recently from Deann Art, which is dreamy, I wanted to add something really special, so I added the most amazing Pierced Temple Jar. #fortheloveofhome I mean my jaw dropped, the white, the pierced work, the scale of the piece, it truly is spectacular. Talk about a showstopper. Can you imagine two of these flanking a mantle, oh my! I may need a second one? They also have other styles and sizes, so many possibilities.
A stop in the kitchen, is where I added this White Marble Mortar and Pestle, which I am using to make my daughters amazing Guacamole recipe. I mean who doesn’t love Guacamole and chips. She taught me a little trick, to add a dollop to the top of your cheeseburger, oh my goodness friends, it is amazing. Also I am loving all the white ceramics and this “to die for” Pink Marble cutting board, say yes, please!!!! To check out my recipe click HERE
I hope you enjoyed stopping by for a little walk through of my Summer Home. You can be sure there are some changes to come, and I hope you will stop back every once in awhile to see what I am up to.
