So, what is this Hygge thing we are all hearing about. Some of us are buying into it, without even knowing it. Some of us have been buying into it, and some of us have always been that way, we just didn’t call it, Hygge. It is not a new thing, but is kind of catching on here in the states. Hygge, is a way of life, a mindset, a laid back kind of thinking. It reminds me of the 70’s and 80’s really.
So what is it, its very simple really, lots of candle light, and I mean everyday, ambient lighting, Natural things, layers and layers of cozy throws and pillows, books, plants and anything from Nature, good food, and good company, and making memories, a fireplace, and anything Vintage. And…….Christmas, is the most Hyggely time of year, so yay. That kind of sums it up. Slow down and enjoy life, and don’t take things so serious.
Just a heads up, if you shop at any of the following stores, you already have some Hygge in your home. Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, and Ikea. Additionally anything Artsy, or handmade, maybe from a Garden Center, Flea Market or Antique Store, falls right into the same category. Thats right, we have already been buying these items, all along. So gather a few together, and see what you can create. Check out this stunning Table runner, she makes to order, go check out her shop and all her lovely things. Well Felt Decor
So there you have it, this is me practicing my Hygge in my Dining Room, with some beautiful new Pasta/Salad Bowls that remind me of and mix well with my Vintage Ironstone, and the most Hyggely Napkins a girl could ever find, with Ferns on them. Be sure to stop over at Purple Rose Home and check out all the beautiful things they have. New things are constantly arriving.
