I am famous for shuffling things around, and…….. buying more lighting, than any one person, really needs. But I can’t help myself, moving things around is my hobby. I don’t play Tennis, or go to card club, I decorate and redecorate, its in my blood. I don’t collect anything in particular, I don’t shop for high end purses or expensive shoes, I covet lighting, I always have. I knew late last year, when I picked out my dream chandelier, which I still can’t get over, that I would need to add other lighting sources to the room, because the chandelier is only 125 watts of light, total. I decided, I would scatter the light throughout the room, which would allow me to have greater control over how much lighting I would need for different activities. Last year when I added a new Mirror over the sideboard, I knew instantly that I wanted to go on the hunt, for a pair of Buffet Lamps, and they would need to be perfect. I wanted Buffet Lamps, but I also wanted sconces. That meant, the candle sconces I had, would need to go.
Thant dream chandelier, right HERE
Wait, lets back up a bit in the story. When I first ordered the candle sconces, over three years ago, now. I bought them to add to my study. However, as my plans always seem to go, something didn’t work out in there, and I decided to add them to the Dining Room instead. I have loved and enjoyed them for all of these years. However, as time goes by, new things are added to the room, which then calls for more change. This is exactly the process, I love and enjoy so much. So, here I am, I have my dream mirror, my dream chandelier, and I have now added the most dreamy Buffet Lamps and Modern/Vintage Sconces to my space. The icing on the cake, the sconces, plug in. This was so important to me, because I didn’t want to open the wall and hardwire them. So often you need to sacrifice style to get a sconce that plugs in, but not in this case. I love that, both the Sconces, and the Lamps have a White Quartz detail that sets them apart, and gives them a very high end look and feel. Together they complete the lighting story in this room.
Here is a reminder of the before, and then after, once we added the sconces.
And then the candle sconces are now gone, and the new lamps in place.
Additionally I have started the journey of replacing all of the lightbulbs in the house, to LED, they burn cooler, use less electricity, and have a truer bright white light.
Coming soon, the return of the Candle Sconces to the Study. I have a few projects going on right now, so it may take a bit, but they will be hung in there, and I can’t wait. But that is another Blog Post.
