I love texture!!!! Okay if you have been following along on this #TipTuesday journey of mine, are you sensing a theme, “I Love” I guess that is ok, since this is my Blog and I am sharing with you all of the things I have learned and all of the things that I love. Moving on.
Texture, ahhhhhh I mean its so yummy, cozy, cushy, it gives me all the feels, its like Making Magic. Believe it or not I am not a huge print lover, not in Home Decor and not in Fashion. So, yeah, I don’t prefer prints. Occasionally, one comes along, but its very rare. (here is one above that I adore from Pottery Barn) I would not say, I am a playing it safe kind of girl, hey, I had red walls in my Dining Room, twenty years ago, I am not afraid, I simply don’t prefer, or desire prints. But I do highly recommend them, if you love them.
Because I stray from prints, adding texture into my spaces is more important than ever. It is important for you as well, so if your space is void of any prints, texture is vital. Luckily I love texture, give me a pom-pom pillow, a tasseled anything, big chunky throws, Velvets, silks, linens, fur-I adore fur, glass, clear glass is a big favorite of mine, and white ceramic pottery-old or new, oh and wood, raw wood and mango wood are some of my favorites, and baskets. Additionally, add in a few Vintage finds and you are golden, talk about magic. Adding in some Vintage pieces gives the space texture but also character which makes it feel even more cozy. It is a win win. There are so many wonderful, beautiful, ways to add texture into your spaces. This is the fun stuff, the cozy, comforting things, like a warm cup of coffee with vanilla creamer. These are the things that transform our spaces from a house into a home, so very important. Layer them up!!! Well, don’t go over board, that stuff just doesn’t work. Keep your space looking like a home not a retail store. You feel me, I know that for sure.
Can I share a secret, don’t tell. My living room Armoire is packed full of texture. Yes it is, full of off season Faux Furs, Pillow forms, pillow covers, tablecloths, table runners, you get the picture. Find a space to keep all the overflow, a huge bin would do, but start collecting. It is so much fun switching up the cozy fun stuff.
