If you have been following along on this journey the last few months, I have been going through the steps, week by week, of all the things I think about, consider, and work through when I am redecorating a space. Here we are, at the end, but lets talk about one more thing.
We talked about lighting a few weeks back, but here is when you step back and consider if you need to any additional lighting, or take any away. Right here is a good place to add in a Vintage Mirror, and some Art. Try some Art that is in a different style than your space, to mix it up a bit. I have a French Romantic Modern Style, the modern being the Art I add to my spaces. Also since I decorate with so many neutrals, here is where I like to add a splash of color. But adding Black,White, or Neutral Art could be just as fun. I have been thinking about doing some DIY painting on Canvas, would you like to come along for the ride? We could paint together. I mean who wouldn’t love a big piece of Art that looks like it came from a gallery, painted by the one and only YOU. Let me know what you think.
Anyway at this point you need to evaluate your lighting, mirrors, art, and accessories, remove anything that is adding too much clutter, or looks busy. Remember to take that photo, it can be with your phone. Did you add in a few antiques, these can either be large or small pieces of furniture, or some some smaller pieces, like a Wood Dough Bowl, Metal or Ceramic Urn or Planter, anything that gives the space some added character, and looks collected over time. Last but not least add a candle, more than one if you have the space. The glow from the lighting and candles will do wonders for your space. Now sit back and enjoy.
Do you know what the next step would be? Starting over, or tweaking something you have already done. Ha Ha you hear me, its a vicious circle. The good news, you don’t need to go through every step this time, only the ones you want to change, unless you are starting in another room, then get busy, you have all the tools you need, enjoy the ride.
