I love, love, love neutrals, that is not secret, and Icy Whites are my favorite for sure. Right after Christmas, I need to strip all the main rooms of color, and start with a clean slate. This clean slate mentality has been my MO ever since as long as I can remember. However this year, I got lucky, I entered a few of my pictures into a contest a won some gift cards from Wayfair, and I never win anything. I mean I never enter anything, so of course I never win. But this time was different, I was excited, I tagged my pictures, and forgot all about it. Then one morning in mid-December I got a message, saying I won. I could not believe it. I instantly understood how the people who win all those giveaways I participate in, feel. It was really exciting, fun, and I couldn’t wait to do the shopping. I thought it would be so easy. The problem was I has thousands and thousands of things saved to my idea boards. Which direction would I go, was the big question? Should I purchase some large piece of furniture, maybe two mid-sized pieces like Nightstands, I need those. Well, what I finally decided to do, was purchase some new decor, pieces I loved, but might not otherwise purchase because of price, or if I did it would take me years to get them all. Yes, a splurge kind of, but not really since they were gifted to me. Anyway, I chose classic pieces, nothing trendy, in Icy white, and in different textures. I wanted pieces that would stand the test of time, and work throughout the seasons, my base pieces, so to speak. The kind of pieces, every room should have. Here are a couple of things I added to my Dining Room sideboard.
These two Urns are new and made of wood, and very textural and the Artichokes are ceramic, I love the mix of the two textures. I defiantly made the right decision. Then I added the base of an antique tureen to the center and guess what I filled it with? Yes, my favorite AFloral flower of all time., of course. Remember I used them in the wooden bowl in the Living Room.
I am enjoying all the Winter Icy White touches, while I am planning the pops of color I look forward to adding for Spring. For some reason this year, I am enjoying every last minute of Winter, and I am in no hurry for Spring temperatures. However, I do start to pull in color in February, Once I got the small dose of color for Valentines Day, I started to plan what was next. I am sticking with what I know and already love. So no big surprises over here. But I am waiting on some beautiful Art to come and I am looking forward to sharing that.
Have a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by the Blog.
