This is in Collaboration with Raymour & Flanagan, #raymourandflanigan_partner however these are pieces I chose for my home. The opinions I share are 100% mine.
Can you see it in your minds eye, right there. Get to a quiet space, lay back, take a few deep breaths, now close your eyes, you are walking down the hall to your dream space, it could be a bedroom or living space, what ever that space is for you. You are about to round the corner and once you do there it will be, your getting closer, your turning the corner, remember this is your dream space……….there, there it is right before you, what do you see? Are there fine linen curtains blowing in the wind as if you can see the air, maybe it is evening and there is the flicker of candlelight and the smell of jasmine in the air. Are there layers and layers of textiles, everything white, or dark and moody? Maybe there are lots of natural elements, what do you see? This is kind of my process, when I am envisioning what I want a space to look and feel like. I first imagine how do I want the space to feel, then function, then look. For me the way I feel in my space is the most important, since I want to feel good in every space, I long for dreamy relaxing, sanctuary type spaces, think a resort setting. Most times there is a jumping off point, so to speak. Something, usually one thing that sparks the flame and gets the ideas rolling. Then one thing leads to another, and you have designed a space.
Right after the Holidays last year we moved our Chesterfield leather sofa out here to the Living Room, while I tried to figure out if I wanted a sectional or two sofas in the back Family Room. And because I do everything the hard way, I decided on two sofas, two leather sofas so we moved the Leather Sofa right back to the Family Room. Ha Ha The funny thing is, while it was only in the Living Room for those few short months, I fell in love with the moodiness the dark color brought to the room, as apposed to my white slipcovered sofa, which I do love, but now I am kind of over it, you feel me, right? Change is good, and I feel things shifting just a bit. Anyway, what is a girl to do, with a new idea, start an Inspiration board of course. You need to work that stuff out, and my favorite way is on a board. I got right to it, and started scouring all the websites for the sofas to find the one of my dreams. I wasn’t sure what it looked like but I was sure how it felt, dark and moody, rich and elegant, Modern yet Vintage. And I found her, and immediately started the board and began to put the room together and make plans to tweak just a few other things, to make it look like a new space, all while still using a few old things, because that is exactly what makes a house a home.
Ta da……here she is, so so pretty, this sofa is a dream. Let me start off by saying, I am already picturing Christmas in this room, I can’t wait. I will be planning it in my mind and on an Inspiration board of course, until the day I drag the first Christmas bin out. But until then, lets dig in and check out this space.
This sofa is what dreams are made of, I mean really. Both the Sofa and the Coffee Table are from Raymour & Flanigan and wow, I can not even tell you how beautiful they both are. The sofa is so soft, its Velvet but not the kind where the fabric moves. It is very comfortable, and is foam wrapped in down. The table is WOWZERS. Believe it or not, this is the first Coffee Table I have ever owned. I have always used an ottoman or a makeshift table. Even my husband was impressed. Both of these pieces have metal legs. I love how that opens up the space, and doesn’t feel heavy.
For the SOFA
For the Coffee Table
That is all I can really share with you right now. There is still an End Table on order, and I am on the hunt for a sofa table. It won’t be easy to find something to go with these pieces, but I will keep looking until I find it. Maybe something a little rustic. We will see. Anyway a few more touches are coming soon.
I think I am finally back from my late Spring/Summer break. I was a little busy with personal things, but I am feeling energized and ready to jump back in. I have lots of things coming up for Fall and Christmas, and I am looking forward to chatting with you again soon.
Thanks for stopping by the Blog.
